Cal-SOAP at Anzar

Who or What is South County Cal-SOAP?

South County Cal-SOAP currently offers part-time and full-time advising at 7 area high schools (Sobrato, Live Oak, Mt. Madonna, Gilroy, Christopher, San Benito, and Anzar). Cal-SOAP encourages thousands of students to realize the opportunities that a post-secondary education provides. For many students who may think they are not academically eligible for college or do not have the money to attend, Cal-SOAP opens the door, encouraging them to change their attitudes about learning and providing them with the tools and services needed to improve their achievement levels, learn about different colleges, and secure financial aid so they can attend the college of their choice. Here at Anzar, Cal-SOAP advisors work in conjunction with the Advisory program already in place, reinforcing  our mutual interest in helping all students achieve their potential and succeed with the college prep coursework required here.

Anzar's Cal-SOAP returning advisor this year is Jessamyne Saenz. This year she will be assisting families with the FAFSA,  helping students register for the SAT, supporting spring community college applications, helping with scholarship application, and counseling individual seniors through their often stressful year. Welcome back Jessamyne!
